Title: Where do you spot?
Post by: ExoticsOnRoad on July 11, 2006, 05:51:32 pm
Hi

I think it's very interesting to know where are some "hotpoints" in your location.
"hotpoints" means, streets, places there are worth to visit with the cam. :)

In Hamburg its very strange.. you can see all or nothing.
last saturday I saw 3 ferraris in 10min and other day I only saw some Porsches in the city centre.

But when you're in Hamburg you have to check these "hotpoints":

- Streets around the Binnenalster (Ballindamm, Jungfernstieg, Neuer Jungfernstieg)
- Neuer Wall, Große Bleichen, Poststraße.. (Shopping area)
- Streets around the Aussenalster (Alsterufer, Harvesterhuder Weg, Krugkoppel/Fernsicht, Bellevue, Schöne Aussichten, An der Alster)
- Große Elbstraße (Bars, Restaurants, Beach-Clubs near the Elbe)
- Some other good streets: Elbchaussee, Reeperbahn, Landungsbrücken, Gänsemarkt.

I'm hoping to spot some nice cars here in Seoul, South Korea, still got another week left. It's very hot here but raining so that makes it a little bit more comfortable. Too bad there is no public information available about Jung Hoon Kim. I'd like to know what his places to spot are!

Some expensive hotels here in Seoul:

Amiga: Nonhyeon-dong, Gangnam-gu
COEX Inter-Continental: Samseong-dong, Gangnam-gu
Grand Hilton Seoul: Hongeun-dong, Seodaemun-gu
Grand Hyatt Seoul: Hannam-dong, Yongsan-gu
Grand Inter-Continental: Samseong-dong, Gangnam-gu

And so on..

My spotting-area: Breda :P

There are some great cars in Breda, but you won't see them usually, you need to search for it.

The most of my 'spots' are made in Germany, some in Switzerland and a few in Holland, that's because where I live don't drive very fast/luxury cars. So when I'm on holiday in the south of Germany or Switzerland I make the most spots  ;)

I think England and maby also Scotland are very good places to spot cars. Especially London is very nice, but also the smaller towns have some really nice cars, look at the town 'Deal' where I've been to, nice cars over there and I love England! :)

The Pagani's looks are truly astonishing, whereas the Veyron doesn't contain any beauty but the engine... So this doesn't come as a surprise eh? ;)

Question @ Vantage91 : Have you ever been to Edinburgh? And if you have, do you know whether it has some exotics? The reason why I ask this is because I am going on a schooltrip to visiting Edinburgh, and I was just curious.

@Ultime - Actually edinburgh is not bad for spotting. You have to know where to go though. I find there are some nice cars in the huge carpark near the centre (I have seen an original lotus europa there and also the db7 gt which is in my autogespot spots  ;)). Also theres the high street just south and if you stand there you are bound to see something, i just came out a shop and there was a db9 volante across the street letting people off  ^O^. I saw 2 quattroportes that day also one that said just married on the back, hehe. Also just outside edinburgh there is a ferrari/maserati/bentley/porsche dealer on the outskirts south of edinburgh itself. I think it is a good spotting area though especially if you stand on the motorway just near the ferrari garage, i was going past in the car and a black 430 blasted past, an aston martin db9 cruised past on the other carriageway and then i saw a blue 911 turbo s and then a rolls royce phantom parked outside a mini dealer  :+ (this was all in the space of 5 minutes  :o). So yeah just have a look make sure you have the camera ready and you might see some nice cars if you are lucky. Also on the motorway keep a lookout. One year i was going through scotland and through england and onto france and i saw a gt2rs test mule on the motorway but i never got any pics  :'(.; Anyways, hope you see something  8-)

Hey there, I'm from York, England, so i tend to spot there. Good places if you do go to York include:
- Royal York Hotel/York Eye
- York Railway Station
- Cedar Court Grand Hotel, just around from the Station
- Clifford's Tower
There are also some nice stuff out and about around the Streets and car parks around the City Centre.

I also spot in Harrogate, England Too, and the main City Centre is buzzing with Porsches, Astons and a few Lamborghinis
Manchester is also a good place, and best area to spot there is the Street of Deansgate!
And finally, London. Just go to Mayfair/Knightsbridge Areas and Hotels, and you'll see plenty of Ferraris and other Exotics!
