Title: Renaming categorys, codes for models
Post by: Damors on January 06, 2014, 02:54:12 pm
Hi

Since at the Mercedes CLS 63 AMG C219 there are different categories for the 2009-model and pre-2009-model, I wanted to ask, if it is planned to make such a different also at the Mercedes SL 55 AMG and old SL 65 AMG.
In the model year 2006 Mercedes made a facelift and it is quite easy to see some differences. For example in the grille, the pre-Facelift model ( http://www.autogespot.nl/mercedes-benz-sl-55-amg/2013/04/27 (http://www.autogespot.nl/mercedes-benz-sl-55-amg/2013/04/27) )has 4 bars and the facelift model ( http://www.autogespot.nl/mercedes-benz-sl-55-amg/2013/04/26 (http://www.autogespot.nl/mercedes-benz-sl-55-amg/2013/04/26) )has only 3 bars. Also the backlights are slightly changed.
So I wanted to know, if it is planned to make such a different or maybe even a new part for "Autos herkennen" even when the SL was there already a few years ago.

Greetings,
Morten

Hi Morten,

The whole SL 55 AMG /SL 63 AMG And 65 AMG have to be sorted.

You can make a start by reporting the spots and/or deliver a nice article of "Auto's Herkennen" if you want :)

I have made a start with http://www.autogespot.nl/mercedes-benz/sl-63-amg-r231/spots?spottype=photo (http://www.autogespot.nl/mercedes-benz/sl-63-amg-r231/spots?spottype=photo) but I had no time to do it for all the SL

Ok, then again one question: If i start reporting the SL 55 AMG, under which names should they be reported? Should it then be SL 55 AMG R230 and SL 55 AMG R230 2006 or SL 55 AMG and SL 55 AMG 2006 or other names?

And to that article for Auto's Herkennen: I dont really know how to write it plus it would be only in english and/or german, so not in dutch for the mainpage.

One more question: I stumbled upon some SL 55, that have the Performance Package, which included the front bumber from the SL 65. Should these cars get an own category named SL 55 AMG R230 PP or Performance Package or should it be handled like at the C 63, where the Performance Package is not extra named.

Please handle it like the C63

thanks for the great help

Hi
me again.. I guess, at the SL 65 AMG there should be the new names similarly, so SL 65 AMG R230, SL 65 AMG R230 2006 and SL 65 AMG R230 2009. If yes, then this whole category should be named under SL 65 AMG R230 2009
http://www.autogespot.nl/mercedes-benz/sl-65-amg-2009/spots?spottype=photo (http://www.autogespot.nl/mercedes-benz/sl-65-amg-2009/spots?spottype=photo)
I think it is possible for you to rename a whole category without reporting each spot, right?

and this one http://www.autogespot.nl/mercedes-benz/sl-600-2009/spots?spottype=photo (http://www.autogespot.nl/mercedes-benz/sl-600-2009/spots?spottype=photo) under the name SL 600 R230 2009

Hi

I wanted to ask about the categorys for the C 63 AMG. Both, C 63 AMG and C 63 AMG W204, are W204-Mercedes. The second one is the modelyear-2012-facelift. So it should be, that C 63 AMG should be named C 63 AMG W204 and the category C 63 AMG W204 should be named C 63 AMG W204 2012.
Also since there is the new C 63 soon, which will be C 63 AMG W205, I think it would be better to have the right names at the W204-Mercedes.
At the Estate, it is correct, only that the S204 is missing in the names.

I dont know, if it will be better, but it would be correct, if you can change the names.

Greetings,
Morten

http://www.autogespot.nl/mercedes-benz/c-63-amg/spots?spottype=photo (http://www.autogespot.nl/mercedes-benz/c-63-amg/spots?spottype=photo) --> C 63 AMG W204

Hmm..thats bad. No way of cancelling or undo the change?
So it needs to be done spot by spot by reporting them?

Ok, now I read your new reply. I can help reporting some.

Could you also add the S204 code to the Estate versions:

http://www.autogespot.nl/mercedes-benz/c-63-amg-estate/spots?spottype=photo (http://www.autogespot.nl/mercedes-benz/c-63-amg-estate/spots?spottype=photo) -> C 63 AMG Estate S204
http://www.autogespot.nl/mercedes-benz/c-63-amg-estate-2012/spots?spottype=photo (http://www.autogespot.nl/mercedes-benz/c-63-amg-estate-2012/spots?spottype=photo) -> C 63 AMG Estate S204 2012

I was wondering whether it would be useful to drop the 'Estate' part, just like S212 and W212 suffice for the E Class. However, we could also do the opposite, i.e. adding 'Estate' and 'Sedan' to the different versions of the S212 and W212, right?

BTW, shouldn't we add code W176 to the A 45 AMG and A 45 AMG Edition 1?

The SL are almost ready. The last ones from this category http://www.autogespot.nl/mercedes-benz/sl-55-amg/spots?spottype=photo (http://www.autogespot.nl/mercedes-benz/sl-55-amg/spots?spottype=photo)
can all go under SL 55 AMG R230 and then they are ready, the 55 AMG, 65 AMG and 600.

Hi

there is another category, which is missing the internal code and is not really sorted correct.
The BMW M135i. All M135i are under one category, no matter if xDrive or not, no matter if F20 or F21.
Should this be also changed?
Differences are, the F20 is the 5-door car and the F21 is the 3-door car. So quite easy to see the differences. Other with the xDrive, afaik there is no outer difference, only the badge.

So my question, if I report them, how many categorys should be created? 4 (so M135i F20, M135i F21, M135i xDrive F20, M135i xDrive F21) or only two (M135i F20 and M135i F21, so no difference if 4WD or not).
Since at the 997 Carrera MkI and Quattroporte S 2013 there are different categorys for the 4WD-versions, even when there are no outer differences, it should be the same at the M135i, right?

And since I have some free time now and the weather is quite shitty, I can start reporting them.

Great idea! I think it's impossible to see the difference between xDrive or not. It'll be a mess. I think it's enough to name the M135i's as F20 or F21.
Title: Re: Renaming categorys, codes for models
Post by: Damors on August 30, 2014, 08:09:47 pm
Yeah, but at the 997 Carrera S Mk I and 4S Mk I there are also no differences that can be seen easily (the 4S is a few millimeters wider), but there are different categorys for them with the rule, that when there is no badge and no way to check it, it goes under Carrera S.
So I would say, it should be the same with the M135i. No badge and no way to check, then under M135i F20 (or F21) and with badge then under M135i xDrive F20 (or F21).

But lets wait, what the admins will say. They should have the last word.

Even though the xDrive versions are sold as separate editions, I don't think they would need a separate category. Splitting 3-door and 5-door will do.

What about those SL 55's btw, are they all done? What is the difference between these three: SL 55 AMG, SL 55 AMG R230 and SL 55 AMG R230 2006.

can all go under SL 55 AMG R230 and then they are ready, the 55 AMG, 65 AMG and 600.

As I said here, the remaining SL 55 AMG can all go under SL 55 AMG R230. It should be easier for you to merge them than for me to report all the remaining spots.
Then the SL are ready.

And the differences between the R230 and R230 2006 are:
- The grille has three bars at the 2006-model and four bars at the pre-facelift model.
-the frontbumper is different and the fog lights has a chrome border
- at the back for example, the braking light in the middle is white at the 2006-model and red on the pre-facelift.

All these differences also count for the SL600 and SL 65 AMG.

Ferrari Superamerica is it's proper name, it is not called 575 Superamerica. Look for example on the homepage of Ferrari, they just call it Superamerica: http://auto.ferrari.com/en_EN/sports-cars-models/all-past-model/#decade-2000 (http://auto.ferrari.com/en_EN/sports-cars-models/all-past-model/#decade-2000)
Scroll a bit down and you will find it.

What about having a separate category for Porsche Exclusives? I have two spottings of the 95B Macan Turbo with the Porsche Exclusive package on it, and they are incredibly rare to find on the road.
